Finding the correct size outdoor lantern can sometimes be a challenge. Here are some tips to take into consideration when you are looking to do your outdoor lights.
The height of an outdoor light should be based on the height of the door. Do not under size your Light remember as a rule of thumb your light should always appear to be about half the size of your door from 50' away.
If you are installing only one lantern on the side of the door, it should measure one-third the height of the door. The center of the bulb should rest 66" above the threshold of the door.

When you use two lanterns on each side of the door, they should measure about one-fourth the height of the door. The center of the bulb should rest 66" above the threshold of the door.
